RUMOR: ST. TRINIAN'S schoolgirl promoted to Miss. Moneypenny?

Gemma Arteton grows up?

Female First, although I'm betting it started in a daily tabloid which as we all know is not the most reliable well of information for film scoops. Here's the info...
'St. Trinian's' star Gemma Arteton is to be the next Bond girl.

The 22-year-old British actress beat 1,500 girls to win the coveted part opposite Daniel Craig in the next 007 adventure, tentatively titled 'Bond 22'.

Excited Gemma immediately sent her mother Sally a text message when she was told she'd got the part this week to let her know the good news.

Her role as 'Head Girl' Kelly in ST. TRINIAN'S is just about all her filmography has to offer at this point, though she does have surprisingly high billing on the IMDB page for Guy Ritchie's next gangster epic ROCKNROLLA.

She looks nice and all, but the idea of that fresh face flirting with Daniel Craig just sounds so very, very wrong to me and a little sad to be honest, when the image of Miss Moneypenny as crafted by the now departed Lois Maxwell was one of a woman who you believed had many relationships but just couldn't find the right man.

No man who she was ever with was good enough for her.

Are the producers now more concerned with the continuity of the series (which is a good idea) and are aiming to now introduce a young Moneypenny who maybe just gets promoted into the position and we see this innocent girl grow and grow with each film?

If the casting comes off, will the age gap just be too much to enjoy those flirting scenes or is this just another one of those throw-a-way rumors we get every now and again with BOND?
