Run like smoke and oakum once more?

It will be a good end to the decade if Unbreakable 2, a Kevin Smith/Ben Affleck team-up for a Daredevil sequel and a new Master and Commander are all put in motion, with firmed and committed start dates. So much potential in all three I'd say, and talk regarding Unbreakable 2 and M & C 2 at least never seems to diminish. Thank God, too. Russell Crowe has told the Associated Press that a script has been written for him to reprise his role as Captain Jack Aubrey, the Kirk-esque British sea captain of the Napoleonic Wars, but that it's far from a done deal that it will actually film. 20th Century Fox don't spend $150 million on a movie that actually deserves it no more, this ain't what they invest their money in these days. master-and-commandercrowesequel Still, the potential sequel is mostly based on The Reverse of The Medal, the 11th novel in Patrick O'Brian's twenty book series and one that finds Aubrey in the Caribbean; "where he meets his illegitimate son Samuel Panda, a Catholic priest born from an illicit liaison". I would expect much like the first movie - elements, characters and sub-plots will be derived from the wealth of material O'Brian left behind after his death in 2000 and it won't all come from that one book alone. John Collee wrote the original movie, alongside director Peter Weir. I would be surprised if either of those men were involved at this point and we hadn't heard about it already, so here's thinking someone else has wrote this. If I had to make a prediction, Fox might just wait to see if Crowe still has big box office drawing power in a summer blockbuster come next May when the 44 year old's outing as Robin Hood will hit theatres before they even flirt with this sequel. via - /film
