11. Mrs. Deagle - Gremlins
The most satisfying death in Gremlins isn't actually one of the titular critters themselves but rather the miserable, cold-hearted Mrs. Deagle (Polly Holliday) - a Scrooge-like wealthy woman who is cruel to the vulnerable, has no regard for Christmas, and threatens to kill Billy Peltzer's (Zach Galligan) dog.
So there's absolutely zero sympathy to be found when the gremlins terrorise her, tampering with her chair lift and causing it to go haywire, shooting her up the stairs at high speed and finally catapulting her, chair included, out the upstairs window.
Mrs. Deagle lands on the lawn outside and presumably dies immediately on impact, in what remains one of the darkest - yet most darkly hilarious - death scenes in any supposedly "family-friendly" horror movie.
For all the horror the gremlins inflict upon the totally innocent residents of Kingston Falls, they get a pass on this one.
Good luck topping that level of unhinged insanity in the upcoming Gremlins 3, though.
