20 Most Satisfying Horror Movie Villain Deaths EVER
The horror movie villain deaths we ALL cheered for.
The vast majority of horror movies tend to live and die on the strength of their villains, who the audience is ideally encouraged to absolutely hate and so actively cheer on their impending demise.
The catharsis of seeing the hero prevail over the villain can only be elevated when the villain gets an unforgettable death scene that leaves the audience ready to scream in elation, overjoyed that this evil person or entity finally got what was long coming to them.
But a satisfying villain death can come in many forms - perhaps an especially sadistic antagonist is killed slowly and painfully, or maybe they have their entire M.O, turned against them in perversely ironic fashion.
Whatever the means, these 20 horror movie villains were all absolutely despised by audiences in only the best way, such that we all couldn't wait to finally see them get their well-earned comeuppance at the end.
And so, these villains' deaths all left the audience absolutely euphoric, that the vile antagonist they'd spent a few hours watching finally got put down for the count - and deservedly so...
20. Billy Loomis - Scream
The original Scream played us all like a damn fiddle, because though Sidney Prescott's (Neve Campbell) boyfriend Billy Loomis (Skeet Ulrich) had all the makings of a bonafide killer, it couldn't be him, given that he was in police custody when Ghostface next decided to strike, right?
But the third act sleight of hand of course reveals that two people have been running around in the Ghostface costume - Stu Macher (Matthew Lillard) and the apparent ringleader, Billy himself.
Billy's conniving, sadistic nature, and the fact that he was responsible for the murder of Sidney's mother Maureen, ensures the audience can't wait to see him finally get his - which he does in fist-pumpingly glorious fashion.
After Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox) shoots and apparently kills him, of course Billy comes back for one last scare, as Sidney shoots him in the head, killing him for good. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy, honestly.
