2. Most Of The Jokes In The Middle Fizzle Out

The main characters may be basic, although that's nothing on the jokey bit-players. There's a whole world to be explored in a supermarket and Sausage Party choses to go about that with a long stream of stereotypes, taking a lazy jab at just about any culture with its own distinct cuisine. And while it is kinda humorous that Mexican food speaks with a Mexican accent and gets confused by the multiple meanings of beans, it's not really top tier comedy that can sustain a full run-time.

This is actually part of a bigger quibble with the film's approach to to the jokes in general. While there's a lot of fun had with the concept and what it directly leads into, much of what's here is indistinguishable from what this gang of comedians have some before; it's only silly within the confines of a Point Grey picture. And that may be the ultimate problem...
