19. The Shoe Gets Dipped - Who Framed Roger Rabbit
Whoever claimed Who Framed Roger Rabbit was a kids' movie was dead wrong, considering that sequence which basically traumatised an entire generation's worth of children.
The malevolent Judge Doom (Christopher Lloyd) demonstrates the full extent of his villainy by showing off the destructive power of The Dip - a vat of liquid containing a mixture of turpentine, acetone, and benzene.
Doom picks up a terrified toon shoe (voiced by The Simpsons' Nancy Cartwright) and slowly lowers it into the dip, with the shoe being liquified within moments of touching the caustic liquid.
Doom relishes the shoe's suffering as it perishes, and to make it all even more horrific, because the shoe is coloured red it ends up melting down into a red residue which can't help but resemble blood.
