Scarlett Johansson: 5 Awesome Performances And 5 That Sucked

4. Francesca - The Perfect Score (2004)

Leave it to the MTV generation to come up with a crime movie where the aspirations of one of the central characters (Chris Evans again) is to compare favourably to a brother who lives above his parents garage. Way to shoot for the moon. The film follows a group of high school students who conspire to work together to steal the answers to their upcoming, potentially life-making PSAT exam, including Evans' aspiring architect, Johansson's daughter of the owner of the building where the answers are hidden, and a ragtag group of kids who just sort of happen to be standing around and over-hear the plot and have to be included. Though the temptation would be to call this a sort of Ocean's Eleven Plus, the writing is just plain stupid, to the point that Francesca joins in the plot simply for the sake of it, with literally nothing to gain from her silliness, and a computer is hacked by a so-called "computer genius" who works out a password completely by accident after glimpsing a photograph of an employee of the building. It's an abject film, and a sterile performance by Johansson, and indeed the entire cast.
