Schwarzenegger: "Terminator Salvation Was Awful"

Arnold Schwarzenegger has given his review of Terminator Salvation.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has given his review of Terminator Salvation, the 2009 entry into the franchise that he didn't star in by calling it ''awful, but he could be coaxed back for the fifth outing as well as a follow up to his 1994 box office smash True Lies.

'€œ all those things, if it€™s True Lies, Terminator, a well-made Terminator€the last one was awful. It tried hard, not that they didn€™t try, the acting and everything. It missed the boat.€

Terminator Salvation staring Christian Bale was directed by 'Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle' director McG and widely panned by critics. It currently holds a 33% score on Rotten Tomatoes. Even though most people will agree that Salvation wasn't the best film in the series by far, Schwarzenegger is forgetting that the last Terminator film he stared in, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines is equally revered by most.

Currently the Terminator franchise is in the hands of Megan Ellison of Annapurna Pictures who won the rights to the franchise after a bidding war at Cannes last year. She has stated that she wants to return the franchise back to its R rated roots which can only be a positive step. If Annapurna Pictures don't get Terminator 5 into production by 2018, the rights revert back to James Cameron.

As for True Lies 2, the issue may be Schwarzenegger's personal problems and because of that the time might not be right for him to star in family friendly movies. Schwarzenegger is currently divorcing from his wife of 25 years Maria Shriver after it was found he had fathered a love child with the household maid.

''True Lies 2, with that we€™ll probably have to wait a little bit because it€™s more of a family kind of a movie, the family dynamic works. My personal situation doesn€™t work so well right now. Until that€™s settled, then we can go off and do that again, with family subjects.''

As a huge Schwarzenegger fan, I was very happy when he announced his return to acting. He's finished shooting The Expendables 2 and Kim Ji-Woon€˜s The Last Stand and is being lined up to star with Sylvester Stallone in The Tomb. And lets not forget the rumored sequel to Twins, ''Triplets'' with Danny DeVito and Eddie Murphy as the third brother.
