2. Ghostface Was Party Inspired By Real Life Events

As is often the case with major horror movies, Scream imitated life, to a certain extent.

Back in 1990, a serial killer named Danny Harold who went by the nickname The Gainesville Ripper murdered a slew of students across Gainesville, Florida before being brought to justice.

Fast forward to the mid 1990s and screenwriter Kevin Williamson was down on his luck and struggling financially when he decided to draft an 18 page movie treatment based on The Gainesville Ripper's story, starring The Woodsboro Killer.
