Scream: 10 Things You Didn’t Know About Ghostface
3. Drew Barrymore Was Legitimately Afraid Of Him
Since her time on set during the filming of the first scene way back when, Drew Barrymore has revealed why her performance was so convincing.
Wes Craven cleverly decided that he wanted Barrymore to appear as genuinely afraid as possible, so he told voice actor Roger Jackson to never let himself be seen by her or the rest of the cast and only to be heard by Barrymore for the final take on her five days of filming.
That ended up creating genuine terror in her as she had no idea what the voice of the killer actually would actually sound like until she was faced with it. Craven also pushed her performance even further by playing on her animal rights activist background by telling her sad animal cruelty stories to keep her crying.
