17. Sam Has Visions Of Billy (And He's Her Father)
When Tara's sister Sam (Melissa Barrera) is visiting her in the hospital, she has visions of none other than Billy Loomis.
Billy appears here via original actor Skeet Ulrich, who appears to have had some sort of digital de-aging applied to him to resemble his 1996-era self.
Sam mentions that she's had to take anti-psychotic meds to keep visions of Billy at bay, but why exactly would Sam see Billy at all? Why, of course, because she's Billy's secret daughter.
As Sam explains later, before his death Billy had an affair with Sam and Tara's mother, leading to the birth of Sam. Sam found this out when she was a teenager, and when she confronted her mother about it her father overheard, causing him to leave while their mother became an alcoholic.
Billy appears to Sam numerous times throughout the film, and while it skates on the fringes of goofiness, it just about works. It's certainly more convincing than Sidney's (Neve Campbell) awfully silly visions of her mother Maureen in Scream 3. Oof.
