Scream: Ghostface’s Top 10 Kills

5. Randy Meeks (Scream 2)

Poor Randy . . . he never gets the girl, the glory, or the respect he deserves. The self-described geek€™s obsession with horror movies and their superstitious rules propped him up as prime suspect in the original movie. But he wasn€™t and recovered from a rather careless gunshot to the shoulder from Billy (he survived thanks to the fact he was still a virgin, of his own admission). He lived on into the sequel, following Sydney to college where he took classes like Film Theory with Buffy Summers, Pacey Witter, and new best friend/killer Mickey. (As I side note, I took Film Theory in college and it was nothing like this class €“ less interesting discussion, more note taking.) Randy never got a call from the killer in the first movie, so when he foolishly picks up Gale€™s phone halfway through the second film, we should have known Randy€™s luck had run out. As Dewey and Gail case the campus for the killer, Randy is left alone to trade quips with Ghostface (his favorite horror movie is Showgirls, he insults Billy and Stu, etc.) before he is pulled into the news van and stabbed multiple times. Killer Debbie Salt aka Mrs. Loomis aka Billy€™s mother admitted later in the film that she €œgot a little knife happy€ when he insulted her son. Trivia: Jamie Kennedy won the role of Randy over Breckin Meyer (Clueless, Road Trip) and Jason Lee (Mallrats, My Name is Earl).
