Scream VI: 22 WTF Moments
13. Quinn's EXTREMELY Suspicious Death
One of the wonkier moments in the movie involves a death scene that was sure to make any genre-savvy fan suspicious.
The heroes are attacked by Ghostface at Sam and Tara's apartment, with Sam and Tara's roommate Quinn being the first victim.
We see Ghostface standing over her while she's in bed, then the Core Four all receive an image of Ghostface holding Quinn, seconds before her "corpse" is thrown out of her room and Ghostface attacks the rest of the heroes.
Given that the Scream series almost never obscures a character's death, and we get only a second-long glimpse at Quinn's apparently dead body before the heroes flee, it's immediately suspect that something fishy is going on and, in the very least, Quinn is probably a Ghostface accomplice who faked her death.
And indeed, that's exactly what happens.
It's ultimately disappointingly reminiscent of the most recent Saw movie, Spiral, where a character died off-screen and, as horror nerds easily guessed, later turned out to be the killer.
For a series that prides itself on tricking the audience, this felt pretty sloppy from a conceptual standpoint, and provided a major clue as to what was going on.
