Shang-Chi: 10 Things You Need To Know
1. He Somehow Managed To Clone Himself
Up until a certain point, Shang-Chi's powers were in no way otherworldly, but there was, however, a recent game-changer in that regard. During his visit to the 'Origin Bomb' site, caused by Avengers nemesis, Ex Nihilo, Shang-Chi was able to use his psychic abilities to replicate himself several times over, completely going against the concept of him having no real superpowers.
Or... does it? It could be argued that Shang-Chi brought about this miraculous feat by merely harnessing a more heightened sense of psychic intuition. And surely this would make him less of a powered individual and more of a... err, mutant?
This is worth noting because it's a potential angle they could work in the upcoming movie. Thank of a grittier, more haphazardly version of Dr Strange's abilities. In the aftermath of Endgame, the next generation of heroes could be a lot less powered, but all the more fleshed out for it.
Shang-Chi could pave the way for a new wave of protagonists who are forced, tooth and claw, to earn their accolade as superheroes, and therefore ultimately rise as worthy successors to the more classic heroes of phases one, two and three.
