Shang-Chi & The Legend Of The Ten Rings Review: 7 Ups & 3 Downs

6. Tony Leung Steals The Show

Surprising not a single living person who is aware of Tony Leung, the legendary Hong Kong actor is without question the movie's MPV as Shang-Chi's father Wenwu.

Leung brings an incredible amount of gravitas to his complex villain, both as an imposing antagonist and a man with understandable motives for what he's doing.

Leung is absolutely magnetic throughout and owns the screen every second he's on it, enough that you'd be understood for thinking that he steals a little too much of Simu Liu's thunder away.

For anyone who loathed the way that the MCU dealt with "The Mandarin" previously - a name freely mocked by Wenxu here - this more authentic, menacing take is a welcome rebuke.

Given the hit-and-miss quality of the MCU's villains, it's safe to say that Wenwu is both one of the more interesting and badass in recent years.
