Sharknado 2: The Second One - 14 Awesomely Ridiculous Moments

13. Batter Up

When the Sharknado attacks a New York Mets game, the stadium frantically evacuates, but there's one character who decides to fight back. Harland 'The Blaster' McGuinness (Richard Kind) is a retired baseball player who remains haunted by the fact that he wasn't able to end his career with a home run in honour of his father. However, he gets a chance to rectify this when a shark is launched into the stands towards him, at which point he picks up a bat and takes a wild swing, sending the shark flying into the CitiField logo. As we cut back to McGuinness, he couldn't look more pleased with himself. Even ignoring the fact that an actor of Kind's caliber agreed to be in Sharknado 2, it's a totally absurd moment: the effects are laughably terrible, and there's no way the physics of the scenario make any sense, but that's the fun of it!
