And finally we have 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, which served up an utterly deranged climax that not a single solitary soul could've possibly seen coming.
When Sir Jimmy Crystal (Jack O'Connell) learns that Dr. Kelson (Ralph Fiennes) isn't in fact Satan as he was led to believe, he threatens to kill Kelson if he doesn't pose as Satan in order to solidify his own leadership over his underlings he calls Fingers.
And boy, does Kelson comply or what?
He puts on a mesmerising diabolic dance performance set to Iron Maiden's anthemic "The Number of the Beast," all while making a fire around his bone temple and blowing a hallucinogenic substance in the face of Jimmy and his Fingers.
Whatever you expected from this movie after the previous film's utterly unhinged ending, it almost certainly wasn't this. Here's hoping that the impending threequel once again surprises us all with something wildly left-field.
