Sin City 2: 9 Reasons It's Going To Be Awesome

1. The Luxury Of Time

Very soon after Sin City was released in early 2005, plans for a sequel were underway, with Frank Miller writing the script in 2006 and planning to plunge headlong into production later that year. Hollywood being Hollywood, though, little ever goes according to plan, and by 2007, it was reported that the Weinsteins had been holding the project up despite their being a draft of the script for months. Furthermore, while Rodriguez went to pursue other projects such as Barbarella and Machete, the project's status remained up in the air, with fans worrying that the longer the gap was, the less the likelihood of the film ever actually getting made. Even in 2012, its status still seemed rickety, as production did not begin in the summer as scheduled, but eventually started in October. Still, though this was not an encouraging sign initially, one has to hope that having so long to plan this sequel has meant that Miller and Rodriguez have crafted something truly special to unleash upon us at the end of the year, something that defines the blood, sweat and tears of 8 years of development. If not, then they'll have a lot to answer for, and it'll suggest that they haven't been spending their time wisely at all (and that studio stalling was actually warranted). And yet, we're pretty confident it's going to be totally awesome. How do you feel about the impending Sin City sequel? Let us know in the comments below.
