Sin City: A Dame To Kill For - 15 Easter Eggs & References You Must See

10. Stacy Keach Though he is almost unrecognisable thanks to some serious prosthetics, the casting of American History X actor Stacy Keach is actually an Easter Egg in itself. He is arguably more well-known for villainous roles these days, but an earlier role links in with the noir roots of Sin City. Starting with 1983's Murder Me, Murder You, Keach of course played Mike Hammer, a Private Detective taken from the crime novels of Mickey Spillane, and continued his association with the role until 1998 - taking in four movies and two separate TV shows. The link is not accidental, you'd have to suspect, given that Sin City owes a lot to Mike Hammer - not least in the characterisation of Dwight McCarthy who is a very obvious homage to the iconic PI character. And this of course is the second time Keach has been cast for Rodriguez, after an uncredited appearance in Machete. All in all, A Dame To Kill For feels even more like Spillane's work than the first one, thanks to the break-neck pace that will put some watchers off.
