4. Aston Martin DB5
The concept of Bond driving an Aston Martin DB5 was introduced in
Goldfinger, and became Bond's most well known vehicle, with it appearing in Bond films such as
Thunderball and
GoldenEye. The car will also make a return appearance in
Skyfall, with the same BMT 216A registration that the Aston Martin had in
Goldfinger and
Thunderball. Sam Mendes, director of
Skyfall, said that having the DB5 in the film "felt like it was a thematic thing. It is about the old and the new, and theres something about last part of the movie which is deliberately very consciously could have taken place in 1962." It'll be interesting to see what Mendes means by this connection. Also, this may be the first time the car is equipped with gadgets since
Goldfinger, with a reference to the ejector seat from that film, which hopefully is no joke.
