10. It's Moving On... Most importantly, the film is not continuing on previous efforts Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace - not that they were bad films particularly. Casino was a brilliant reboot and retooling of the series and Quantum, while a divisive film, explored ideas of revenge and forgiveness with serious gravitas, and both films gave us some impressive action scenes throughout. Skyfall, however, is a totally original story and a stand-alone feature - reportedly named after Bond's ancestral home, indicating a focus on Bond himself as a character and person, rather than a walking tool or plot device of a protagonist. Skyfall has been promised by its producers to start coming back to 'classic Bond' - and with the arrival of fan favouite Q (the gadget-building, quipping quartermaster of MI6) imminent and confirmed, it seems like Skyfall is ready to move on from its beginning and establishment of 'new Bond' and start marrying the classic with the new.
