SMOKIN' ACES duo eyeing crime caper LA LINEA

Ray Liotta and Andy Garcia are lining up LA LINEA, a crime drama that is loosely based on the infamous Arellano Felix drug cartel as their next project.

Armand Assante and Danny Trejo amongst a couple of others are also in talks for the movie. You can read the whole list here, at The Hollywood Reporter who broke the news. The producers are Geoffrey Ross and R. Ellis Frazier; Frazier also wrote the screenplay. It seems everything has been found for this movie, apart from a director! Sounds like a cool project to me. Obviously the first name that comes to my head would be Joe Carnahan but he's a busy guy right now. Whoever takes the job, will be helming Liotta and Garcia - two of the very best in this type of genre. That's gotta be a draw for film-makers at there. Filming on the movie begins on October 16th in Los Angeles and Tijuana from Project One Films, Ronin Film and Media Group.
