Has Aaron Eckhart Been Two-Face About THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Return?

In an new interview with CBS, Aaron Eckhart may have cheekily alluded to Two-Face making a highly surprising return after all in the much anticipated The Dark Knight Rises that begins filming in two months time. OR... he could just be messing with our heads, sick to death of being asked the same bloody question by journalists no matter what film he is promoting! We're going for the latter but for the optimistic of you out there, I'm sure you will have come up with a different response. When asked directly if he would appear in the new Batman movie, Eckhart responded with a cryptic response...
"I'm not? I couldn't possibly say".
Watch him say the comments with a wry smile below... I'm sure I'm not the only one who believed that Two-Face was deader than my pet hamster (who died a rather tragic death last night; RIP Dave), especially after Eckhart's own steadfast and frequent comments regarding Nolan's flat-out dismissal of a potential return for Mr. Dent. But now, if this rather vague addition to the rumour mill is to be believed, could it be that we will see the return of the former Gotham DA and is that why he keeps meeting up with director Chris Nolan on a beach? Following the CBS interview, Eckhart spoke with Indiewire concerning his comments, and was yet again vague regarding his involvement with the conclusion to Nolan's trilogy. When asked directly whether or not he would be making an appearance, he teased:
"How can I possibly answer that question? That would be career suicide. But I will say Harvey Dent is dead."
So Harvey Dent is dead, but not Two-Face? I hate to come over all cynical, but the finale of The Dark Knight seemed pretty conclusive regarding his demise. There are only two possible scenario's I can think of; either Two-Face will return in a flashback sequence, or that this is simply hot air being blown by an actor keen to grab headlines in the wake of his latest movie's release. Expect regular updates concerning this rumour, as Eckhart will no doubt spend the next two weeks discussing it with anyone who can secure a minute of his time.

Paul Tamburro hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
