16. Lady Proxima

Lady Proxima - the head of the crime underworld on Corellia that trades childhood "protection" for servitude (she's basically Fagan from Oliver Twist to be honest) is one of the strangest characters in all of Star Wars history (and that's saying a lot).

She's clearly also designed to be a walking (well, slithering) WTF Moment as she's a Grindalid - a worm-like alien that lives submerged under water (rising from the depths for added impact) and is deathly allergic to direct sunlight. So far, so Star Wars, but you really have to wonder how a sun-hating, water-dwelling caterpillar was ever able to rise through the ranks of a crime syndicate if she was never able to go outside.

Maybe not one to pick at there...
