15. Han "Solo"

Would anyone in the ENTIRE WORLD have been disappointed if it turned out that Solo was in fact just Han's surname? Did we really need a ridiculous sitcom-like explanation that he was just called Han until he tried to sign up for the Imperial army and someone gave him the Solo part AS A JOKE.

Talk about taking one of the best names in Hollywood history and making it so dorky it actually hurts. it's awful and clunky and painfully unnecessary.
