Solo: A Star Wars Story - What Does The Ending Really Mean?

6. The Beginnings Of A Rebellion

One of the biggest reveals and most genuine surprises in the movie is the true identity of Enfys Nest, who isn't the villain we all thought but instead a teenage girl trying to take on the Empire.

The Cloud-Riders, who also count Warwick Davis' Weazel (first seen in The Phantom Menace) among their numbers, want the coaxium to make bombs to aid a new rebellion.

The Rebel Alliance as its known didn't form until around two years before the Battle of Yavin, which is eight years after this moment. However, there were a number of cells that pre-date the Alliance, and this is what we're seeing here, and a fairly crucial one at that. We may never see Enfys again, but we know that, to some extent, her group do spark life into the rebellion.

Aside from that, there's also the fact Han Solo helps them. Han in the Original Trilogy is a man who only looks out for himself, before eventually joining the Rebels, but now we know that his loose ties to the Alliance go way back to this moment on Savareen.
