Although it would be disingenuous to suggest that Eddie Brock's Venom had a good run of things in his time under the suit, there are certain storylines that do stand out.

Certainly, none are as good as the ones that surrounded the Flash Thompson symbiote, but the Lethal Protector arc of 1993 is anything if not iconic. That storyline, which cast Brock as a San Fran-bound anti-hero, featured the character being captured by a villainous group known as the 'Life Foundation'. Convinced that the Symbiote could be tamed, they cloned it, creating five other Symbiotes each with their own terrible name.

Phage, Agony, Scream, Riot and Lasher were thus born, and Brock - not at all happy that he'd been cloned - set out to destroy the imposters. Spider-Man even joined in for the ride, and while we know he won't be featuring in the upcoming film, the prospect of seeing five other Symbiotes is an exciting one indeed, especially if it turns out Carnage is involved too.
