Sony's Marvel Film Universe: 8 Things You Need To Know

3. Sony Have Plenty Of Characters To Use

Although it might seem as though the Spidey license is quite restrictive in terms of characters that can be used, Sony have been afforded a generous amount of room by it.

When you consider that Marvel mainstays like J. Jonah Jameson, Robbie Robinson and more (we won't mention the Spider-Clones just yet) are all up for contention in their universe, it's clear that the studio have plenty of tools at their disposal. One such character that would be perfect for the live action treatment is Cindy Moon, who was introduced in 2014 by Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos as Silk - a character with powers much like Peter Parker's.

There's also the matter of Spider Woman (Jessica Drew), who, while not a Spider-Man character in any sense of the word, still falls under Sony's remit. As an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., Drew would present the perfect character to bridge both Sony's and the mainstream MCU together, and indeed, she's more than deserving of an Avengers call-up, should Marvel deem it necessary.

Spidey's universe is certainly expansive, and if Sony can find a way to get creative, they could have projects lined up for years to come.
