2. Events From Earlier Films Will Have An Impact

Considering the 007 franchise has gone on for over 50 years with six different actors in the lead role, it makes sense that there has not been much continuity. There are recurring motifs and characters, but rarely are there recurring plot points and themes. At least there were. The Craig films seem to play by their own rules. Quantum Of Solace was the first direct sequel in the entire series, and Spectre looks to continue addressing themes introduced in Skyfall, such as Bond's relevance and his past. For the first time the Bond films have an overarching plot and recurring themes. According to rumour, Craig's 007 in Spectre will be haunted by the events of previous films; he will feel guilty over M's (Judi Dench) death in Skyfall, and may still want revenge on the returning Quantum organisation after the death of Vesper. Bond's mission could be very personal, and that would make for some interesting stakes. Speaking of Vesper Lynd, Bond may be thinking about her again for a reason other than vengeance - he may finally be getting over her...
