Spectre: 12 Easter Eggs & James Bond References In The New Trailer

11. Baron Samedi

If the narrative of the trailer is to be believed - and it frequently isn't - Bond ends up in trouble with the new M for going rogue in Mexico City and attempting to close on some unfinished business. He doesn't actually blow up his intended target, so presumably there's someone else (SPECTRE, obviously) on the trail of the same target (probably Mr White given the suit and the fact that he then turns up in hiding). That same Mexico City sequence shows a Day Of The Dead celebration (apparently, a big thing for 2015 trailers, what with Batman V Superman and all) shows a character (possibly Bond, but would he ever dress up as something so crass as a spirit of the dead on a death mission?!) dressed up in a costume that is definitely a homage to Live And Let Die's Baron Samedi. Whether it's Bond or not remains to be seen: his build appears too slight, but then Craig does seem to have slimmed down even from Skyfall when he rippled out of his suit. Suspicions would suggest it could be Andrew Scott's Denbigh, whose creepy smile in the trailer was definitely enough to suggest he's a wrong 'un, but he has brown eyes, not blues. Either way, it's a nice little nod back to Baron Samedi, especially since Geoffrey Holder died in October 2014.
