2. He's Just A Straight MI6 Agent

Simply put, we might be reading way too much into the fact that Andrew Scott is a relatively high profile actor in a reasonably muted role. He might just be Denbigh, Centre For Intelligence agent. But then, why would he be seen fighting with M? Well, out of loyalty to Bond, perhaps? It's key to remember that Bond is operating under the radar, in defiance of his MI6 handlers and definitely his boss, who appears to want to haul him over the coals for his insubordinate behaviour in the trailer. It looks as if Q will help Bond with his off-grid activities (despite their odd friction), but he might not be the only one, and the fact that Denbigh's biography specifically notes his job might be a hint that Bond uses him to spy on the rest of MI6 to help uncover the mole. Perhaps he wrongly assumes it's M and fights him? Maybe M is a double agent? There was definitely some suggestion in the leaks that M should be presented as a morally ambiguous character, and that he'd drawn suspicion before. Or it could be that M is the real Blofeld. Seriously, at this stage, it's possible to argue that pretty much everyone other than Bond could be the iconic villain...
