Spectre: 7 Most Compelling Pieces Of Evidence That Christoph Waltz Is Blofeld

3. He's Filling The Blofeld Role

"It was me James, the author of all your pain..."
This is an outright blatant attempt on the part of the filmmakers - or whoever put the trailer together - to suggest that Christoph Waltz is, indeed, Blofeld. From that dialogue cue, who else are audiences supposed to believe he is if not Bond's most rivalled enemy? The Moriarty to his Sherlock Holmes? "The author of all your pain" is a frankly unsubtle suggestion; it's only something that an arch-nemesis - a Blofeld - could possibly say. The use of the word "author" had many people - quite bizarrely - believing that Waltz was set to play Ian Fleming, the novelist behind James Bond. Which is insane, but hilarious. Still, given that Spectre is called Spectre - Blofeld's own organisation - and is rumoured to be the last Daniel Craig-led incarnation of the franchise, it seems fitting that there could be no other author - no-one else capable of presenting Bond was such a brilliant and chilling introduction that also makes sense in the context of the series - than one Ernst Blofeld.
