Spectre: 7 Predictions About The Plot

2. Andrew Scott's Character Will Be A Misdirection

What does the entry heading mean exactly? Well, there's a very real chance (considering Sam Mendes' reluctance to talk about specific plot details) that Andrew Scott's role in Spectre will be mole-like in nature. Entirely new members of MI6 are rarely introduced into Bond's world, and when they are, they're usually not very nice people. Take Miranda Frost in Die Another Day as a prime example. The wet-behind-the-ears agent played by Rosamund Pike was supposed to be a field agent deployed to spy on the big bad of the film and ultimately ended up being revealed as a double agent from within MI6. While it's unlikely that Mendes will utilise the exact same plot device for Spectre, don't be surprised if Scott's Denbigh character has more than just an air of uncertainty about him. It's never wise to put all of your eggs in one basket, so expect Denbigh to be a MacGuffin for Bond; a front for who the real villain is...
