Spectre: 8 Most Convincing Fan Theories

7. Oberhauser Will Become Physically Scarred

The Theory

Though he looks fine in the trailers, Franz Oberhauser€™s face will become hideously scarred in the course of the film.

Why It Could Work

One of the most defining characteristics of Donald Pleasence€™s Blofeld was the long scar that ran over his right eye. If Waltz is in fact playing that character (more on that later), then it would stand to reason that he might come to physically resemble him as well.

The theory is lent a lot of credibility by some paparazzi shots which spotted Waltz€™s face covered in motion-capture dots. Considering the history of the character and the purpose of the dots to digitally alter his face, it seems almost a given that something is going to disfigure Oberhauser.

Regardless of how little a scarring could impact the plot, any and every callback to Bond history is always important, especially if they€™re attempting to visually re-create such an iconic character.
