Spectre: 8 Most Convincing Fan Theories

6. Oberhauser And Bond Are Brothers

The Theory

After Bond€™s parents died, a skiing instructor named Hannes Oberhauser took him in. In Spectre, Christoph Waltz€™s Franz is the grown-up son of Hannes, as well as Bond€™s former foster brother.

Why It Could Work

While it hasn€™t been officially corroborated, the trailers seem to all but confirm this one. For starters, briefly spotted in the debut footage is a scorched picture Bond finds in the wreckage of Skyfall, accompanied by a Notice of Guardianship. The picture in question depicts two children standing with a man in the snow. Presumably, this is Bond as a child and it€™s certainly symbolic that the other child€™s face is burnt away.

Then there€™s Oberhauser€™s dialogue to consider, where he speaks as if he knows James personally and has been waiting for him to arrive in their conclave.

So long as their relationship is not forced, it could add another dynamic to their clash if there€™s a deep personal connection between Bond and Oberhauser.
