I know its a big old retcon, but further than saying Aha! It was me all along!, Blofeld doesnt really delve into how exactly he made everything happen. With regards to Silvas plan in Skyfall in particular, that didnt make a great deal of sense. Silvas menace stemmed from the feeling that he answered to no-one and couldnt be controlled, so the revelation that he was actually being controlled by Spectre rang a bit hollow. Now, if itd been revealed that it was actually Spectre which bought him that enormous island and all his tech, that wouldve been a bit more satisfying. Im not saying Blofeld shouldve got a blackboard out and spent half an hour explaining in excruciating detail where and how hed managed to sort everything out, but even a couple of throwaway lines wouldve hooked it all together quite nicely. As it was, we just had to take his word for it. That said, the fact that Blofeld doesnt wear any socks with his suede slip-on loafers was a pretty solid pointer that the guys fundamentally evil and capable of anything. Have you seen Spectre?
