8. Monica Bellucci Is Barely In It

When Monica Bellucci was announced as being cast in the film, cinephiles the world over rejoiced, a) that such a brilliant actress had signed on for the film and b) that Bond was going to hook up with someone his own age for once, considering that, despite not looking it, Bellucci is 51 years old and in fact over three years older than Craig. Sadly, though, Bellucci apparently only appears in the film for a very brief spell, showing up for a "quick shag", while Digital Spy commented that, "Monica Bellucci's grieving widow is so throwaway you wonder why she even said yes to the part" and The Independent called it a "cameo". Of course, Lea Seydoux's Madeleine Swann was always going to be the focus, but even so, the reviews make her appearance sound incredibly perfunctory. And people complained about Severine being a disposable character in Skyfall. As for whether Bellucci is similarly killed off or not, though, we'll have to wait and see...
