Spectre Trailer Breakdown - Everything You Missed And Need To See
SPECTRE's Rome Meeting
The Rome meeting of SPECTRE's head brass was shown briefly in previous teases, but here it's shown in much more detail. Christoph Waltz's character (we'll still pretend he'll called Oberhauser for now) is seen entering the meeting after everyone's arrived, with a distinct level of surprise as everyone unexpectedly stands. Is the string-puller finally showing his face? The person at the opposite end of the table is particularly stunned - is he been the hapless front of the organisation (if so, he's probably the guy we saw Mr. Hinx disposing of earlier)? "Welcome, James. You came across me so many times yet you never saw me. What took you so long?" Chilling. It's likely not the proper line (there's an odd audio edit halfway through), but the point is clear - SPECTRE's been meddling in the background for a while and this meeting, which Bond probably thinks he's so clever for sneaking into, is actually all a way to bring 007 out of the woodwork. Oh my, this is exciting. A first, non-shadow look at (sigh) Oberhauser, who turns chillingly to directly look at Bond, springing his trap. Waltz was seen with dots on his face on location, a clear sign of some CGI prosthetics, but here looks pretty all together. Will some scarring happen in the film, or is that some cheeky misdirection. Bond has never been to Rome before, and after what's going to go down in Spectre he may not want to again. The Bond movies thrive on putting the usually cool and collected spy out of step, but, judging by the sheer size of the scheme at work here, it looks like Spectre may push James to his ultimate limits. The action will really kick off here. As well as probably leading into the car chase, one SPECTRE goon's going to need some of Blofeld's trademark facial reconstruction - Bond flings him head-first off the balcony, almost as a human projectile at Oberhauser.
