Spectre Trailer Breakdown - Everything You Missed And Need To See
SPECTRE Uncovered
And now we get into the plot. The name Spectre is so loaded in the Bond canon you can't help but get giddy at the simple suggestion of the terrorist conglomerate appearing a new film. Along with the help of Q, Bond and Swann discover some information about the organisation, pertaining to its members or actions or something. Of course, Madeleine is already aware of them, delivering the spine-chilling name reveal. How much she's linked to the organisation herself, and how much comes from her family (according to recent reveals she's the daughter of an assassin) isn't clear, and hopefully will remain so until the film hits. There's more than just the reveal of a name in this sequence though. We learn a chilling key to SPECTRE; the element linking all the parties involved is... Bond. Things are going to get personal. Or already are, it seems. The implications of this - was Spectre made to combat MI6 and Bond in particular? - are unclear, but it's so exciting to see the franchise once again taking the personal route - after those tombstones in Skyfall put to bed all that rubbish about James Bond being a codename, we're getting even more of a look at the man behind the gun. During this reveal, we see James come across a memorial for killed agents, with his own name scrawled in blood at the bottom. Is Bond presumed dead (he was in Skyfall)? Is it an assassin's statement of intent? Perhaps some of the names are agents from Skyfall's lost hard drive, making Bond's name a taunt for a failed job. Whatever the case, it all ties into the feeling that SPECTRE are targeting 007.
