Spider-Man: 10 Reasons Sony Should Fire Andrew Garfield

10. The Amazing Spider-Man Franchise Has No Direction

The first Amazing Spider-Man movie showed a lot of promise, but its sequel dashed these hopes by using too many villains, having a convoluted plot, and killing off one of the most popular characters in the franchise. Sony had planned to use a villain-centric model to launch a Sinister Six movie and a Venom spin-off before the franchise€™s third installment, but now these aspirations have been thwarted by the poor box office showing of The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Having lost its direction, the franchise needs to be culled before any further damage is done to the character. Sony clearly have no idea of how to handle this popular and incredible character, so it would make sense for the rights to be loaned out to Marvel so that something can be salvaged. Unfortunately, Marvel stipulated that Garfield wouldn€™t be the man for the role if this should happen, so he may have to be an unfortunate casualty in the quest for a film which can do Spidey justice.
