Spider-Man 2017: 10 Things Marvel Must Get Right

10. No More Origin Stories

The rumoured mantra of Marvel is that they are done showing audiences how these superheroes came to be. Which means characters like Black Panther, Captain Marvel and Doctor Strange may already be battling the forces of evil when audiences first meet them in their solo movies. That is also an appraoch that should absolutely apply to the new Spider-Man movie. Audiences all know the origin, even if they haven't read the comics. Peter Parker gets bitten by a spider and develops special powers. His Uncle Ben is murdered, Peter uses that death to be a force for good and voila, your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man. Audiences have seen this happen twice in a decade. The new 2017 movie should go straight into the action, which would make sense if this is his second appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The obvious answer would be to continue The Amazing Spider-Man series featuring Andrew Garfield, though it looks as if Marvel want a fresh take on Spidey, particularly as The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was the lowest grossing of all the five Spider-Man films so far.
