Spider-Man 3: 12 Huge Rumours That Would Change Everything
8. The Film Will Feature Another Major Avenger
Both of the past two Spider-Man movies have relied rather heavily on an Avenger - or at the very least a character associated with the Avengers - to play something of a mentor role to Peter Parker.
In Homecoming, Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark took Spidey under his wing, while in Far From Home, we saw Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury (or at least thought it was him) attempt to do the same. Well, if this next rumour turns out to be true, we might see another major Avenger play a significant role in the third offering.
Coming from We Got This Covered, this one claims that Spider-Man 3 will feature another one of Earth's Mightiest Heroes and that it is likely between Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel or Doctor Strange.
This would change everything, sure, but annoyingly, most of the outcomes here would only succeed in changing everything back to the way it was. Wasn't the whole point of Far From Home that Peter became his own hero by honouring Tony's memory? So while it would no doubt be awesome to see him team up with Carol Danvers or Stephen Strange once again (both of whom he had great scenes with in both Infinity War and Endgame), isn't it time for him to carry his own movies instead of relying on another major hero?
On the other hand, if the hero in question ends up being Ms. Marvel, the film could end up ushering in the next era of the MCU - as the character is set to headline her own Disney Plus series (presumably sometime in 2021).
