Spider-Man 3: 12 Huge Rumours That Would Change Everything

Further rumours have since suggested that Marvel Studios will be busy doing other things with Captain Marvel (her sequel) and Ms. Marvel (her TV series), so that Spidey will be left in need of a different partner in crime-fighting instead. Well, apparently Tom Holland has somebody else in mind.

WGTC suggests that the young actor has been pushing for Peter to team up with Ant-Man in the heavily-anticipated film because he's been a long-time fan of Paul Rudd. This one should probably be taken with a pinch of salt because it's no secret that Holland would like the pair to work together on an MCU film, but given that he reportedly played a role in Sony and Marvel coming to an agreement on Spidey 3, it's clear that the higher-ups are listening to his thoughts.

The idea of these two working together isn't exactly game-changing on its own - they have, after all, teamed-up in both of the last two Avengers and fought each other in Captain America: Civil War - but the introduction of Scott Lang could end up drastically changing the tone of Spider-Man 3.

While humour is definitely a recognisable trait of both the Spider-Man and Ant-Man franchises, the latter relies on it a lot more. Thus, with that in mind, Spidey's next offering could be a lot more light-hearted than we're expecting it to be.
