Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse Review - 8 Ups & 2 Downs

7. The Totally INSANE Animation

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

Into the Spider-Verse remains one of the most visually inventive superhero and animated films of all time, but Across the Spider-Verse somehow manages to take things to a whole new level.

While, again, there are moments which may leave some viewers feeling exhausted, there's no denying that the filmmakers are basically pushing the bounds of animation to near-breaking point here.

Barely any two scenes in the film look the same - so much effort has been put into making every separate environment and universe feel distinct, and yet everything feels so expertly calibrated down to the finest visual detail.

Needless to say, this thing is almost certainly winning the Best Animated Film Oscar, and rightly so.
