Spider-Man: Far From Home - Every Character Ranked Worst To Best

1. Mysterio

After two movies, the MCU Spider-Man movies have a record of two really great main villains and lots of slightly less effective supporting bad guys. But when you've got villains as good as Vulture and Mysterio and actors as strong as Michael Keaton and now Jake Gyllenhaal that's nowhere near an issue.

Mysterio is great before the twist, offering a sort of cool but grounded big brother feelm, channelling Tony Stark just enough to make Peter feel attached to him. He also has the charismatic but humble superhero thing about him that Cap had, while his powers look pretty incredible.

It's only after the twist that he goes into orbit. His nastier, more unbalanced side comes out and we find out about his past and the secrets of his "powers" and while there's no nuance in his motivation, the performance manages to get over that fact. And watching him manipulate Peter with his projections is some of the best film-making the MCU has ever seen.
