Spider-Man: Far From Home - Every Character Ranked Worst To Best
2. Peter Parker
Tom Holland is very good as Peter Parker and very, very good as Spider-Man, but this film is more about the latter than the former. It's about Peter once more wrestling with what it means to be Spider-Man when all he wants sometimes is to be Peter. And this time he has the added kicker of also having to deal with the idea of being "the new Iron Man."
Holland's power in this dual role is that he's able to sell both Spider-Man's wit and Peter Parker's vulnerability and his flair for emotionally charged scenes adds depth to a character we are very much watching grow up.
The script is very good to Peter Parker too, exploring identity issues, legacy anxiety and performance issues, and watching Peter have his epiphany moment and truly blossom into Spider-Man by the end is extremely rewarding.
