Rumour:

Despite the revelation that Zendaya IS MJ at the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming, one rumour suggests we're going to see Peter Parker's first love in Far From Home, which would seemingly relegate her from romantic interest this time out.

The rumour comes courtesy of a series of auditions that have appeared online for Stacy, and while they should always be taken with a pinch of salt, the fact that the same lines were used does add some weight to the rumour.

After the way The Amazing Spider-Man movies handled Gwen Stacy, there is certainly scope for her to be done better (even though Emma Stone was well cast in the role). And Stacy is as big a part of Spider-Man's past as Mary Jane, so it would be a smart move to include her.

Likewise, Sony could avoid treading the same waters as TAS 2 by avoiding killing her and spinning her off into her own movie and scoring the easy win with a Spider-Gwen solo outing. It's about damn time that happened, after all.
