While Jake Gyllenhaal's apparent casting in Far From Home immediately led fans to believe he was playing Mysterio as the sequel's main villain, it turns out that that might not actually be the case. At this stage neither the actor nor the character are firmly confirmed, but the rumours continue to swirl.

There's no smoke without fire and using Mysterio as the main villain would be great, considering the fact that he hasn't had a chance in Spider-Man movies yet.

he might be a slightly goofier villain, but casting him well - and Gyllenhaal would be an outstanding choice - would go along way to assuaging those fears. And who wouldn't want a little magic in Far From Home?
