Spider-Man: Far From Home - What The Explosive Ending Really Means

4. J Jonah Jameson Will Lead The Hunt

Thank the Lord for Marvel Studio's unwavering commitment to fan-pleasing moments. Were it not for that agenda, we probably wouldn't have got to see JK Simmons' stunning return as J Jonah Jameson.

Simmons was born for the role - or Jameson was created just for him - and it would have been unthinkable to have anyone but him growling his complaints about Spider-Man being Public Enemy Number One. Some things have changed this time though.

Obviously, this isn't the same Jameson as the Raimi movies, but if you needed further evidence, this JJJ isn't editor of the Daily Bugle newspaper. Instead, he's presented as a sort of Alex Jones type, leading an Infowars-like website. He's still got the same affection for Spider-Man, but this time he feels even more vindicated in his hatred of him after Beck's video.

It's going to be interesting to see how Peter Parker reacts to being attacked on all sides with Jameson actually leading the attack, rather than fighting against the tide. Let's hope this means that he's going to play a major part in Spider-Man 3's plot.
