Spider-Man: Homecoming - 10 Valid Criticisms That Can't Be Ignored

1. Pepper Potts' Pointless & Bizarre Return

There are quite a few unexpected cameos in the movie, though none is weirder or more surprising than Gwyneth Paltrow, reprising her role as Tony Stark's love interest Pepper Potts.

It's strange simply because this is Pepper's first MCU appearance since 2013's Iron Man 3, and with her breaking up with (or at least going on a break from) Tony in Civil War, it seemed pretty decisive that the character was probably being written out of the franchise.

Randomly bringing her back in Homecoming for a gag where Tony plans to propose to her in front of a waiting gaggle of reporters was more peculiar than funny. So, their breakup is just totally glossed over, and two months after Civil War everything's just fine again? At least until Paltrow's next scheduling or contract dispute, of course...
